A 40-Year-Old Port Ellen from ‘The Rarest Collection’ has been launched by specialist spirits purveyor, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Limited. Distilled in March 1983, this Islay single malt whisky from cask number 667 was among the last batches to be produced and matured in sherry oak prior to Port Ellen ceasing operation in May 1983. Yielding a mere 209 bottles, each hand finished decanter is sequentially numbered per the outturn and features a corresponding signed certificate of authenticity, endorsed by Euan C. Shand, Chairman of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Limited. The Rarest Collection represents the finest cask strength single malt; each cask scrupulously curated and dutifully matured in Duncan Taylor’s coveted reserves until achieving a unique and uncompromised level of depth and character.
