Gordon & MacPhail reveals the fourth edition honouring George Urquhart, referred to as 'the father of single malt whisky' and second generation of the family that owns Gordon & MacPhail. Aged 65 years in a first-fill sherry butt, this release from Glen Grant Distillery was laid down by ‘Mr George’ and left to mature in a cask made to his own specifications. This single malt was bottled in November 2023 at a cask strength of 56.5% - remarkable considering its age. The theme of this edition is around 'The Lone Oak' which symbolises Mr George’s unique whisky ageing approach. Only 376 bottles were produced and BlockBar has secured 10.
