‘Elas' is a series of moving portraits of Latinas against a dystopic New York. Each portrait is a moment suspended in time, charged with emotion - moments that never existed, but that are evocative and touching.
Hispanics compose 26% of New York's ethnic makeup. But they suffer structural racism, xenophobia and the resulting structural inequalities, and they are often excluded from the main narratives and representations of New York.
