Description
The Commodore 64 was released two years after the Commodore VIC-20, with superior memory, graphics, and sound capabilities, as well as good compatibility with its peripherals. It went on sale in the United States in August 1982 with a launch price of $595. The Commodore 64 was initially built using the same chassis as the VIC-20 to keep production costs low, but was soon given its own chassis, similar to the VIC-20 but in a different color.
