I felt a bit sorry for this guy.
I watched him climb this escarpment for about 20 mins one afternoon. He gave up after 3-4 minutes of heavy panting, slipping on the ice, and getting nowhere fast.
When he eventually passed me, I pointed out another route that avoided the hell he'd just been through. Not as direct as the crow would fly, but with half the gradient, faster, safer, and a chance to enjoy the land, rather than fight against it 😊
